Clothes for Dance Class

The right clothing is a big part of the experience for almost any extra-curricular activity and that is certainly true for dance! We do encourage and recommend that your dancer bring a separate bag to school with dancewear and shoes to change into for class!  We do both ballet and tap each week.

Here’s what your dancer will need:

#1. A black or pink leotard for girls.  Black or white shirt and shorts or stretch pants for boys.

#2. No tights! We actually discourage the wearing of tights because they can be a hassle for little ones changing in and out of, so nix those and add some thin socks, or no socks at all!

#3. Shoes! Pink leather Ballet slippers for girls, black or white ballet slippers for boys.  Black Tap shoes. You can buy these at Wal-mart, or Target, or Amazon, but if you’d like to shop local, we recommend Dancewear Tallahassee.  White sneakers for hip-hop classes.

** On dance day, your child’s school and/or we will assist your child for class. However, if your child is able to do this on their own, this is ideal!  Send your child to school, wearing easy slip in and out of clothes (like a cotton pull over dress, t-shirt, or elastic shorts;) and shoes (like crocs, or shoes with velcro).  No shoes with buckles or ties, or clothes with buttons and buckles, etc. This helps with more dance time and less dressing time!
